Substances of peptide nature were found in the nociceptive system of the spinal cord of rats with pain syndromes induced by the creation of pathologically intensified excitation generator (PIEG). The substances possessed analgesic properties. Spinal cord extracts of rats-donors were intraventricularly administered to rats-recipients with pain syndrome of spinal origin. The extracts exhibited analgesic activity. Extracts from areas of the PIEG development exhibited the strongest analgesic properties. A direct correlation was observed between the degree of the manifestation of the analgesic effects of the extracts and the intensity and duration of pain syndrome in rats-donors.
