Polysorb as an immobilizing matrix for the drugs used for the local therapy of otitis media

Local treatment of inflammation by continuous introduction of the drug on the sorbent matrix is supposed to be an ideal method as it warrants prolonged supply with the drug administered in a single dose. Such treatment was given to 77 patients suffering from acute and chronic otitis media. The follow-up results show the sorbent to reduce the tissue inflammation and exudation within the initial 5-10 hours. Perforation closes much more promptly than in other treatments for acute and recurrent otitis media.
