A 36-year-old Japanese man was stung on the cornea by a wasp. He became delirious and had dyspnoea, ocular pain and severely decreased visual acuity. It was thought that the wasp was Vespa mandarinia. A broken sting was found in the deep central cornea. Additional ocular findings were keratitis, iritis, cataract, secondary glaucoma and unrecordable electroretinographic responses. Inspite of this, the posterior ocular segment appeared normal to ophthalmoscopy and ultrasonography. The follow-up findings and progress are not reported.
