A case of migration of a Kirschner-wire from the hand to the elbow is presented. The potential ability of metallic fixing pins to migrate within the patient must be recognized, and more frequent postoperative examinations and radiographs should be performed after the insertion of such pins to permit earlier detection of migration, and thereby to permit earlier removal.
