Percutaneous renal artery angioplasty is an accepted treatment for renal artery stenosis. A variety of complications have been reported related to this procedure. The authors report a case of Type B aortic dissection occurring immediately following renal artery angioplasty, a previously unreported complication of renal artery angioplasty. A mechanism for this complication in this patient is postulated.
