Sulphuric acid producers in South Korea are operating in an increasingly difficult environment. Competition from the developing countries of Asia, increasing labour rates and new government liberalization policies are examples of the problems facing South Korea's chemical concerns. Since the government has withdrawn its subsidies for fertilizer manufactures, fertilizer exports will probably decline although domestic fertilizer demand will remain unchanged.
