The system described is designed to allow an animal freedom of movement in a pen 8 m2. Physiological data can be recorded without the influences of observers, confinement, or the restraint of encumbering wires. Separate transmitter-receiver systems are used for each signal and so far electrocardiographs, electroencephalographs, body temp. blood pressure, respiratory rate and ruminai activity have been recorded.
