L'aspect endoscopique de la muqueuse colique doit faire porter le diagnostic de colite ischémique régressive, s'il est appuyé par l'étude histologique des fragments biopsiques. Il est dès lors possible de porter l'indication d'une artériographie, débouchant éventuellement sur un traitement chirurgical curatif.
