A young cat presented with an injury to the left eye was found to have haemorrhage in the left ear. Radiographic examination revealed a Promethus hunting pellet (made of nickel steel with a plastic sheath) below the C2 vertebra. The pellet had entered the eye, passed through the ear canal and finally lodged near the spine. An attempt was made to salvage the eye but enucleation was subsequently performed.
