Although there is a popular notion that maternal employment is detrimental to young children, this has not been supported by, empirical facts. We designed a study to determine the effect of material employment, controlling for other demographic and social variables hypothesized to be interrelated with maternal employment, on the diet quality of a sample of US children aged 2 to 5 years.
