Discolorations of vital teeth and tetracycline stains

In this article, discolorations of vital teeth were classified as extrinsic and intrinsic discoloratons. The extrinsic discolorations were also divided as non-metallic, (which were green, black, orange and nicotin stains) and metallic discolorations (Which were copper, ferrous manganese,. mercury,nickel and silver stains). The intrinsic discolorations were discoloration due to endemic fluorosis, enamel hypoplasia and hypocalcifications, amelogenesis imperfekta, dentinogenesis imperfekta, staining of teeth due to some systemic disease, internal resorbtion and discoloration due to tetracycline.
