The author presents results of treatment of 262 patients with diabetic gangrene, necrosis and phlegmons; he mentions the complex of therapeutic measures incl. acral and high amputations, analyzes the causes of difficulties associated with therapy of ischaemic and infectious affections of the diabetic foot and possibilities how to improve the present unsatisfactory state of the problem.
