In the submitted paper the author deals with aetiopathogenetic factors participating in the development of anorexia nervosa in childhood and adolescence. She summarizes her experience with clinical pictures of the disease in this period and focuses attention in particular on somatic complications encountered most frequently in child patients. She draws attention to certain differences from findings in adults. In treatment she emphasizes in particular individual psychotherapy of patients and family group or family therapy. She mentions also the most frequently used psychopharmaceutical preparations and other pharmacological therapeutic methods.
