Primary diseases of the greater omentum in children

The results of treatment of 12 children with primary acute diseases of the greater omentum, in whom preoperative diagnosis is difficult, have been analysed. At operation, primary omentitis was revealed in 4 children, in 6--torsion of the omentum, in 2--its idiopathic infarction. Two more children were operated on for lymphangioma of the greater omentum. The result of treatment is positive, and prognosis of the disease is favourable.
