Giant teratoma of the placenta (acardius amorphus)

This was either giant teratoma of placenta or malformed twin foetus. A premature separation of placenta took place this resulting in an antenatal asphyxia of the second foetus. The mechanical pressure of the tumour could play a role in the development of asphyxia.
