A new site-specific deoxyribonuclease RtrI from Rhizobium trifolii has been shown to recognize the sequence 5'-GTCGAC-3' in double-stranded DNA and to cleave it at the point indicated by an arrow. Therefore the enzyme is a true isoshizomer restriction of the endonuclease SalGI.
