In reply to the letter by Os et al [preceding abstr.] the author states that his proposed test model and the test with a larger group of single quarters are both laborious, but that the model with 100 identical paired quarters can be spread over a longer period. With regard to the previous trial with 83 identical pairs, his statement was that no distinguishable difference in therapeutic potency between the drugs was discernable.
