This document contains major provisions of the 1989 Legitimacy Act of Sierra Leone which imparts legitimacy on any individual whose father and mother marry each other or have married each other before or after the commencement of the Act. The High Court is empowered to hear and rule on legitimacy claims. The Act also sets out the rights of a legitimated person to property and to inheritance.
