The American Academy of Pediatrics, USA, does not support all the provisions of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes of the World Health Organization. Articles 1 to 11 of the Code and the Academy's suggested revisions of some of the articles are briefly noted. The Academy agrees that breast feeding should be encouraged but feels that the Code attacks a single issue, that of the use of humanized milk feeds.
