Contraception acceptability among a group of newly delivered mothers in jordan

The purpose of this study is to investigate family planning acceptability among a group of newly delivered women at Jordan University Hospital. The study lasted from May 1, 1980 to December 31, 1982, 450 women were interviewed and their forms completed. The results of this investigation was showed that the positive attitude at the first interview was influenced by: education of the husband, occupation of the husband, contraceptive knowledge and previous or current use of contraception was influenced by, patient's education, husbands education, ever use of contraception before the last pregnancy and the attitude at the first review. The study has also indicated that health education provided by the health team in paediatric and obstetric and gynaecology departments could improve acceptability of contraceptive methods among women by not less than 16%.
