Accidental injection of tranexamic acid (Transamin) during spinal anesthesia

A critical incident in errors involving drug administration is always present in anesthetic practice. The subarachnoid injection of wrong agents will lead to mild to severe undesirable outcomes. We report a case of accidental injection of Tranexamic acid (Transamin 8), which was used instead of the ordinary 10% glucose solution, into the subarachnoid space. Some uncomfortable reactions were in consequence. We also discuss some measures to prevent this type of incident.
