Trend of cholera in Delhi studied for a period of 14 years from 1972 to 1985, indicated culture positivity of admitted cases varying between 10 to 23.1 per cent, highest being in the year 1983. No case of cholera was detected amongst neonates. Less than 10 per cent of total cholera cases occurred in infants. All other age groups and both sexes were affected equally. High seasonal indices were observed in the months of July and August. Persistence level calculated for the eyes showed a gradual rise from 43.6 per cent in 1976 to 51.2 per cent in 1985. Minimum monthly incidence rate was always zero for the years studied. Present results place Delhi into an area of intermediate endemicity.
