This case presents a woman with pulmonary thromboembolism after the insertion of an Adams-DeWeese's clip around the inferior vena cava. A radiologic study, by Computerized axial tomography, was made and an opened clip (outside the lower cava limits) was seen. This rare clinical event is expounded.
