A section on quarantine (pp. 10-11) of this report on the storage, transport and marketing of rice in New South Wales includes information on stricter quarantine controls in the import of milled rice into Australia. With special reference to the danger of Trogoderma granarium Everts being accidentally introduced, notes are provided on several stored-product insects that constitute a threat. T. variabile Ballion has recently been introduced into Australia.
