Effect of onion on electrophoretic pattern of serum proteins in alimentary lipemia

The electrophoretic pattern of serum proteins of 25 men fasting and 3 h after a meal of 100 g butter or 100 g butter and 100 g raw onions was studied. Total protein, alpha 1-globulin, alpha 2-globulin and ss-globulin re-mained unaltered. Increased values of y-globulin with a fall in albumin were observed which were less when onions were given with the butter.
