Contractions of the gastric antrum induced by stimulation of the medial forebrain bundle in the rat

Glucoreceptors sensitive to cytoglucopenia exists in the medial forebrain bundle of the rat. The selective activation of these receptors provoked an increase in glycemia and gastric secretion. In the present work, we found that stimulation of this diencephalic area in rats also provokes potent gastric contractions. Stimulation with high voltages usually inhibited this effect.
