Five letters to the editor critique and discuss 2 recently published studies concerning the effect of maternal hematological status on pregnancy outcome in blacks and whites. Data are included to support the arguments presented. Rebuttals to these critiques are provided by the authors of the 2 studies. Weakness and oversights are pointed out in the critiques.(wz)
