The article entitled "Medico-social characteristics of mothers on leave to care for a child" is devoted to the survey of medico-biological and socio-hygienic characteristics of mothers which are on leave to care a child up to the age of 1.5 years. Mothers surveyed were classified according to the groups of health, an estimation was provided of social factors which have an adverse effect on the health of mothers on leave to care for a child which made it possible to work out guidelines and specific measures for health care delivery aimed at mothers health protection and promotion.
