A classification of hemodynamic disorders in the mother-placenta-fetus system has been developed, and approaches to the management of pregnancy and the choice of the method and time of delivery have been evolved on the basis of a study of 134 normal pregnancies and 47 complicated pregnancies between 16 and 41 weeks. It is demonstrated that abdominal delivery is preferable for the sake of the fetus where uteroplacental and fetoplacental circulatory disturbances are considerable.
