A quarter of a century after the publication of A. Mitscherlichs "Society without father" we have to state that his diagnosis should be extended and specified based upon a critical look at the moral theory of A. MacIntyre and the feminist anthropology of E. Badinter the thesis is developed that the decay of patriarchal social structures is connected with a regression towards a pre-oedipal society.
