"Under some conditions, the comparison of life expectancies may lead to a much more accurate measure, in terms of dissimilarity between the empirical distributions of the number of years expected to live at each age. This paper analyses these conditions and applies the dissimilarity approach to the data of the Italian life tables of the 20th century." (SUMMARY IN ENG AND SPA)
