The author demonstrates the diagnostic possibilities of an ultrasonic examination of severe injuries of the chest by a one-dimension echolocation method on the basis of experimental and clinical tests of a modernized ECHO-P apparatus and a sensor. Synonymous and repeated acoustic characteristics of lung contusions, hemo- and pneumothorax have been revealed and described. The obtained data are of practical interest with regard to express diagnosis of the complicated chest injuries at the preclinical and early clinical stages of the treatment of the patients.
