Improved perfusion in two traumatically amputated fingers which were replanted was obtained by means of continuous infusion of a local analgesic agent via a catheter in the axillary sheath. This method can be recommended for replantation of parts of extremities. It may possibly also be of value in other surgical intervention on the extremities.
