This short paper describes the work of a hospital in rural Ethiopia that has produced annual reports on its activities, often in extremely difficult circumstances, for over 10 years. The reports cover not only activities in the hospital but also those organized in the community. The paper provides an impressive catalogue of achievement, including the provision of improved hospital facilities and safe water supplies, that has led to substantial reductions in mortality rates in infants and children aged <5 years.
