The number of primary health teeth, the DMF index (total of all the carious, missed and filled-up teeth per subject) and the frequency of dysgnathies had been registered in 882 children aged 12 to 14 years. Compared with the European population, the state of teeth is a relatively favourable one at present. Trends of worsening of the stomatological-epidemiological situation in the Peoples Republik Mocambique can, however, not be overlooked and will require the necessity of preventive measures.
