Successive pediatric and therapeutic services for improved prevention of peptic ulcer in young people

Study of the effectiveness of a long-term rehabilitation-staged treatment of 211 ulcer patients that was begun in childhood to be followed up to the age of 18 years and over has shown that a favourable effect was obtained in 94.6 per cent of the patients. The combined rehabilitation-staged treatment contributed to the identification of the early signs of ulcer in childhood, prevention of the development and complication of the disease in young subjects. Use of medical rehabilitation both by pediatricians and physicians-specialists in gastroenterology must promote a decrease in ulcer morbidity in adults.
