Linitis plastica carcinoma of the intestine

Linitis plastica carcinoma of the intestine is rare. Primary tumours are observed in less than one out of 1,000 cases of colorectal cancer and secondary forms are five to ten times more common. Three new cases of primary linitis plastica of the intestine are reported which brings the total number of cases up to 71. The characteristics, symptomatology and treatment are discussed.
