Dimethylsulphoxide and indomethacine pharmacokinetics has been studied in 60 rheumatoid arthritis patients. Dimethylsulphoxide applied to the skin passes to all the biological fluids (blood, urine, saliva, synovial fluid), produces systemic therapeutic effect, selectively accumulates in salivary gland secretion and significantly contributes to isolation of indomethacine from the ointment. The same dose of the agent administered orally increases its urine concentration by dozens of times, which is important for treating secondary kidney amyloidosis. The urine concentration of indomethacine in oral administration is relatively high and persists twice as long as blood concentration, the agent is not found in salivary gland secretion.
