a) The administration of h.s. by stomach tube and intraperitoneally induced pulmonary tumours in all the newborn BALB/c/Cb/Se substrain mice treated. b) In mice surviving at 395 days after the oral administration of the drug, the percentage of carcinomas rose to 15.54%, while in mice treated in the same way but killed at 126 days, these tumours were only 1.13%, the carcinogenic index also increased in the mice which survived the longest. c) When h.s. was administered intraperitoneally and the mice were allowed to survive for 255 days, the percentage of carcinomas was 26.64 and the carcinogenic index 5. d) In adult BALB/c/Cb/Se substrain mice treated with a larger doses of h.s., such a high percentage of pulmonary carcinomas never resulted. e) Newborn BALB/c/Cb/Se substrain mice are also a valid carcinogenic test for h.s. which in its turn, has shown yet another element which give reason to consider it a definite carcinogen for the mouse.
