Six Cases of superior sagittal sinus thrombosis are reported. All cases occurred within two years after birth. They had a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations, including seizures, disturbance of consciousness, acute hemiplegia and intracranial hypertension. Neontal polycythemia and dehydration were thought to be etiological factors. CT scan revealed massive brain edema with slitlike ventricles. Increased density of the torcular Herophili and straight sinus was demonstrated in two cases. The diagnosis of superior sagittal sinus thrombosis was confirmed in three cases by digital subtraction angiography, and in the others by routine cerebral angiography. It was concluded that DSA offered a definite advantage in the diagnosis of cerebral sinus thrombosis in neonates and infant.
