The Authors propose a new classification of the infant psychopathologic syndromes, based upon a "pluri-axial" approach, and using the criteria of coherence and clearness. The scheme has been developed according to the French School of Psychosomatic, and the results of the research of Leon Kreisler. The role of the pediatrician results modified by the use of this method; he must be more attentive to the infant's needs, messages and disposition, rather than to the bare symptom.
