The present-day methods of examination, preoperative preparation, intraoperative diagnosis, surgery and postoperative management of patients with insulinomas are described. Difficulties associated with the exact preoperative topical diagnosis of insulinomas stipulate particular significance of intraoperative methods of examination among which the leading one is ultrasonic method and manipulations conducted under its control. Application of "Biostator" apparatus before, during and after the operation is the most adequate method of the monitoring and correction of glycemic changes.
