Survival of skin allografts in euthermic and torpid (hibernating) ground squirrels, S. citellus L. during the hibernation period was studied using histological, cytological, and immunological methods. It was shown that allografts in euthermic animals in this period survived about 3-4 times longer than those in euthermic ones in summer. Allografts in torpid animals survived more than 3 months and were rejected only after arousal in spring.
