Clinical picture and diagnosis of tuberculous pericarditis

A total of 53 patients were examined. Tuberculous pericarditis sicca, exudative pericarditis and adhesive pericarditis were detected in 4, 20 and 29 patients respectively. Exudative pericarditis was diagnosticated in cases with megalocardia and decreased cardiac wave on the roentogenokymograms. In the patients with adhessive pericarditis there were observed cardiac ectopia due to pleuropericarditis symphysis and wave deformation on the roentogenokymograms, is some cases it was diagnosticated by pericardium incrustation. The tuberculous nature of the disease was judged by tuberculous processes of other localization (71 per cent), positive reaction to tuberculin tests and efficacy of antituberculous therapy.
