Prognosis value of levamisole on bilharzial patients with bronchial asthma

The effect of levamisole - an immunostimulant drug - on the immunosuppressed bilharzial patients with bronchial asthmic was studied. The drug raised the level of cell mediated immunity as shown by the significant increase in the percentage of positivity in tuberculin test and the percentage of inhibition in leukocyte migration inhibition test (from 20% to 40% and from 20.4% to 30.4% respectively). The clinical improvement of these patients after levamisole arose the importance of this drug in treating bronchial asthma in bilharzial patients.
