As an infection, malaria is discussed as a parasite-vector-host system. As a disease (public health problem), it is discussed as an anthropo-ecosystem consisting of: a malaria infection subsystem; an environment subsystem; a demographic subsystem; a social action subsystem, and a social aggregate subsystem. The various elements of each subsystem are mentioned.
