Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are diseases which can be contracted through vaginal, anal, and oral sexual intercourse. Common STDs are listed. AIDS is a collection of symptoms and diseases caused by HIV infection and the subsequent weakening of the human body's natural immune system. The stages of HIV infection are described. Prostate cancer is the growth of malignant cells in the prostate gland, the gland at the base of the urinary bladder in men which helps to create semen. This form of cancer generally affects men over age 50 years and may grow very slowly without causing symptoms or spreading to other parts of the body. The condition has no early symptoms and is most often discovered during a routine rectal examination. There are no specific preventive measures against prostate cancer, although an annual rectal examination after age 40 is the best way to detect the condition early. Male infertility remains a complex problem with many unknown aspects in need of intensive research. Male impotence refers to disorders of erection, lack of libido, or both conditions.
