The authors carried out a trial in order to evaluate with a new method, viz. Reflex-Light-Rheography (RLR) the efficacy of a preparation containing aescin, heparin and polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine (EPL) for topical use. The trial included 100 patients with different pathologies of the lower limbs (postphlebitic syndrome, varicosity, constitutional phlebohypotonia). Thanks to this treatment, they observed an improvement of To and .DELTA.R, in particular in patients with varicosity and phlebohypotonia. This improvement was more evident when patients were treated with local as well as systemic application of the same drug.
