The precentage composition of bone marrow in the Pharaoh quail in the first two years of life from the day of hatching was studied. The erythrocyte system was found to be the dominant one throughout the analyzed period. In the course of the first week after hatching an enhanced proliferation of erythroblasts is observed, while in the second week maturation processes prevail. In aging birds erythropoiesis becomes markedly limited. The granulocyte system is in the postembryonal period functionally more stabilized. Slightly increased granulopoiesis was observed only on the 1st day of life and during sexual maturation.
