Population-genetic study of arterial hypertension

The prevalence of familial cases of arterial hypertension in the population of the city of Moscow [Russian SFSR, USSR] was studied, as were the relative proportions of genetic and environmental factors of the level of arterial pressure and correlations between genetic markers and levels of arterial pressure. Two hundred and thirty-five families (803 persons) were observed. The prevalence of the familial cases of systolic and diastolic arterial hypetensions was 1.4% and 5% respectively.
